Campers participate in daily ensemble rehearsals and music theory classes in an atmosphere that elevates everyone's musicianship. Equally important is the direct instruction each camper receives in weekly, one-hour lessons. -

Through this course, we aim to provide resources, insight, and advice on building a school mariachi program from scratch, one that is inclusive of students from all backgrounds. TCCC/IOSP Youth Camp 2022: Camp will include five days of exploration and instruction Monday-Friday 9am-3pm. Saturday, August 13th the camp will culminate in a performance which will include all camp participants! Students ages 8-16 with all levels of experience are welcome to join this integrative music camp brought to you by Itasca Orchestra and Strings Program at the Reif Performing Arts Center. Camp activities will focus on nurturing the individual potential of participants and providing a safe and supportive environment for creativity and expression. All students will participate in a final performance at the Reif Performing Arts Center. Strings teachers from the Third Coast Chamber Collective (a professional chamber music group) will lead the camp with the assistance of guest musicians Irene Diaz (cello), Ria Hodgson (violin) and Lynnea Iverson (voice). Adult Chamber Music Camp: The camp will include chamber music rehearsals side by side with TCCC members, Feldenkrais for Musicians, music appreciation classes and a final performance. Repertoire will be tailored to the size, instrumentation and experience of the participants. All participants will be placed in a chamber music ensemble with a faculty member to facilitate music collaboration and artistic communication between the participants and their coaches. The camp will be concluded with a performance of all chamber music groups, to be held on Saturday August 20th.
