Cannon Music Camp: A three-week music-filled retreat in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, Cannon Music Camp offers the most comprehensive course of musical instruction in the Southeast, with intensive college preparatory work in performance and music theory. Campers participate in daily ensemble rehearsals and music theory classes in an atmosphere that elevates everyone’s musicianship. Equally important is the one-on-one instruction each camper receives in weekly private lessons. String Crossings Camp Carrie Kimbrough, String Crossings Camp Director String Crossings is a week-long camp where students can study classical, jazz, rock, celtic, swing, and bluegrass. Students have the opportunity to study with Belmont's world renowned faculty in group classes to learn multiple genres and learn from their expertise in a small ensemble in the genre of your choice. The small ensemble concludes the week with hands-on experience in a Nashville recording studio. Students also participate in an orchestra, learn improvisation techniques, enjoy faculty performances, and immerse themselves in a fun week of making music with new friends. Vanderbilt Adult Chamber Music InstituteAmateur adult string players and pianists are invited to the Vanderbilt campus for 4 days of chamber music. The daily schedule will include plenary sessions on technique and literature, chamber group coachings and rehearsals, masterclasses and concerts. All levels of experience are welcomed. Chicago Jazz Workshop - Midwest Young Artists' Chicago Jazz Workshop is designed with the aspiring creative jazz musician in mind. Afternoon/Evening Chamber Music - Midwest Young Artists' Afternoon/Evening Chamber Music is an excellent opportunity for students to continue playing in chamber ensembles over the summer break. Unlike the Chicago Chamber Music Workshop, this camp meets in the afternoons and evenings during its two week session, although both camps are lead by the same outstanding faculty. Afternoon/Evening Chamber Music is specifically designed for string, wind, and piano students, and is particularly beneficial to students who are taking summer school classes but would still like to participate in a summer chamber music camp. -
